Since then, Nine Months was revisited on various occasions. In partnership with another writer in 2004, as a background story in 2006 to retain essence, and today re-written as version 3.14 in 2008. it's original tagline had since changed greatly as maturity and information setted in. From a factual and crude story it transited to a story of suspenseful and dramatic high-school love story, back to a crude and love-less story, to a dubious story often misunderstood as a love story written backwards, and to today's essence. Even within verison 3 discrepencies still arise between its initial conceptualization and its subsequent conceptualizations. Characters had to be modified to suit the occasion, and plots had to be modified to suit the characters. Comparing the initial Kim in 3.10 to her in 3.14, there is an obvious difference when it comes to the attitude to her parents already.
And this change will go on till its finally normalized in version 3.42 (the publication draft).
Below are excerpts taken from Nine Months since its initial introduction as version 1 to today's excerpt in verison 3- note the differences in terms of writings, potrayal and characterization. Above all, just enjoy the story that takes five years to complete.
Version 1.0 (level of development 1.72)
Kim was getting excited too. She and Tan had agreed to come over to her house at two in the afternoon... half an hour after her parents had left for the community centre, that would make sure her parents would not see hide or hair about Tan. She had speculated it'll be over by three or four, leaving Tan plenty of time to leave before her parents would return from the community centre at five in the evening.
Kim was unblemished. Her body was perfect... her smooth dark skin... curving at exactly the right places... reflecting palely under the light, was everything a hot-blooded male could ask for. She had met Tan a year ago at a gathering. Tan was a hot bod. And nobody could ever think he was just fifteen unless he told them. They just clicked... and have been dating very frequently till Tan requested her to have sex with him the last week, which she willingly agreed.

"Sis!"
Kim turned around. A matured adult in her late twenties, she still remained single. There was young Mel, barely thirteen years old, grinning right at her. A streak of excitement upon her face.
"SisSisSisSisSis!" Words were shot out like bullets from a machine gun : Mike-from-school-told-me-just-now-that-he-loved-me-very-much! Do-you-know-what-it-means? It-means-I'd-found-myself-a-boyfriend!"
Boyfriend, loved... it was understandable. Mel was beautiful. A spunky young gal in character. She had inherited a great body... which decieves her young age, she could make boy's heads turn. Her long and silky hair were the cause of countless gasps around her. Her madonna face and sensous curves. It would take a miracle for her not to have boyfriends.
Version 2.0- The Original Sin
Initial Conceptualization

"Sis!"
The voice from behind starlted Kim from her work, and she spun around to see Mel staring up at her, with her hazal eyes sparklingwith delight. At fourteen, she was the typical teenager going through adolescence- attention seeking, hyperactive and grossly hot tempered. But she had a body that devilishly betrayed her age. the face of an angel was gloriously protected by layers of brown hair flowing flawlessly down her back, tinted from netball trainings under the hot afternoon sun. Her body was perfect- sensuous curves at all the right places; a toned stomach from training, slim and muscular thighs that led to sexy calves and tiny feet. Her skin was flawless, and when she smiled she made everything wrong in the world seem right, with one creation. So much like me, she thought. So much like me.
Version 2.0- The Aftermath (level of development 2.12)
"Yes, Ian... for the third time I'm telling you, I am having it! Now are you satsified?"
Silence from the other end.
'Oh heavens... are you that mundane? Ian? That test had deemed positive! That damn test you had been bugging me to take to try to hope I'm... but now it's a fact that I'm having it! And it'll be a fact that you're going to be a god-damned father with a bawling baby in your arms by this christmas!!!"
Yet, more silence.
'Oh! You're hopeless..." Slam.

"Hey there beautiful," Ian stepped up from the ledge as kim opened the door. " Why the sudden urge to see me?"
He took a closer look at that face he was all too familiar with. Something in his gut told him that something was wrong.
"It's nothing."
"Don't start that thing with me again. What happened?"
"I'm okay, really. I just need company now." She reached out, and intertwined their hands together. He pulled her close, feeling her breath adn her heartbeat. She was trembling.
"What happened, Kim?"
"They quarrelled again. And this time she wants to leave." Kim's voice was shaky as the words came out, and she motioned towards the luggage beside the main setee.
"Kim..." his voice trailed away. he held her tightly, hoping to offer her what she needed desperately.
Version 2.0- The Aftermath (level of development 2.56)
She had searched around the house for the very fourth time, frustrated right to the bone, and desperately searching for that so coveted box of paper strips she had got from the store downstairs a couple of days ago. Drawers were wide pen and hanging, and clothes were lying haphazardly against the cold marble floor. Even a couple of Her World magazines were swept carelessly to the floor, its pages all splayed wide and crumpled. The entire house looked ravished- she very well knew that.
Fu*k Marina City Park…Fu*k Ian…Fu*k what happened three days ago, Kimberly Ng, and concentrate on where had you placed that box yesterday morning when mum was at home! Come on… think! Kimberly think! Where on earth did you put it away yesterday?
THINK! YOU ASSHOLE! Ian’s waiting!
Answers- that was all she was seeking for. That little boxful of paper strips. Each of which contained all those vital answers she had so desperately marauded for- far beyond those to any examination…to her thought’s and actions…to her future…to her entire life.

Characterization 1 (level of development 3.04)
She was hot. And it had been an understatement.
there was an unspoken wonder that crossed the minds of many on how many boyfriends she had since the day she was hot. afterall, countless were the number of times she had been mentally undressed by those hot blooded desperate youths as she strolled down the Marriot and Tangs. They wanted her, they wanted her immediately and they wanted her naked. than and again they wanted her just for the sake of wanting her. She was a trophy, elegantly carved, constantly exhuberating a silent message of pride and arrogance to whomever she belongs. the guys in her class were always whispering and gossiping, trying to plan out various study groups so that they may have a better chance in studying her instead. they discussed among themselves during canteen breaks at the back of the class over her background and body. They were constantly glancing over during PE lessons when she was clad in PE shorts and a loose shirt, steeling greedy little glances up her tights and across the two little prominent bumps pushing proudly against the soft folds of material over them. Big boys of eighteen years of age behaving like ignorant thirteen year olds, freshly out of puberty and all giggly and curious over her as if they had chanced a stray copy of FHM on the floor. They were a bunch of desperate lustful bastards over her- she was very sure about that.

Version 3.0 (level of development 3.10)
She opened the door. He was standing there again.
“What happened, Kim…” his voice trailed off. She heard his voice resonate again- that so familiar yet soothing voice she had always relished in… somehow, the words did not make an impression anymore-whatever he said wouldn’t make a difference anyway. All she wanted was to hear his voice once more, and perhaps his accompany. The stairs could have provided enough solace alone itself, but she knew that this time she needed more than just that.
Then she looked up. Through loose strands of hair across her eyes she saw him. He was still standing there, shifting a little uncomfortably, and then rummaging clumsily into the back pocket of his jeans for perhaps a packet of tissues, or a handkerchief. There was a jingle of keys falling to the ground and his ez-link card popping awkwardly at the mouth of the pocket. He looked so blur and cute, she wanted to kiss him there and then.
Why did I ever ask him to come over? How am I ever going to tell him about them?

He wanted to ask her something this morning.
She had been completely different from Elle. Elle was loud, domineering, and sometimes a little… scary. Elle could be smiling sweetly for a while, and break into a tantrum the very next moment; Elle was always wanting to experiment new things every time they went out- sometimes even things people way beyond their age daren’t to do; she was a person to meet and yet never to know. But her friend was completely another case…
Her name is Kimberly, and Elle had always called her Kim. She was roughly six months younger than her; they had been classmates since primary two at CHIJ Toa Payoh Primary School. But unlike her noisy classmate she was much more quiet and well- mannered. Shoulder length hair that led down to petite shoulders and a stunning body beyond, complimented by a whopping 257 points for her PSLE. There was wonder she wasn’t strutting down Orchard Road and being mentally undressed by those hot-blooded youths at the Heeren and Cine today.
He had wondered that for another moment, he still could not fathom what was actually going on.
